This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My school's student population is 100% free lunch and we are a title 1 school. Each year we get some supplies from our district for our classrooms but they are never enough or the best quality. I want to make sure my students are set up for success for the entire year with the best supplies and resources!
We have 4 different literacy unit projects throughout the school year.
The units are Literacy Lab, Bugs in their Ecosystems, Animal Stories, and Jobs in Our Community. Many of the resources I am requesting are to help create a fun and exciting final projects! For example, the trifolds will help students create a presentation on their jobs. I will have a job fair where families will come in so students can teach them all about their jobs! Students LOVE to create a final project to share with each other and their families! It makes all of their hard work worth it!
The toys and fidgets are for indoor recess! The winter months drag on and we are in our classroom during this time. The students play on electronics at home and even times in school. I want to get them away from electronics and start playing with toys again! These will also be used as an incentives for students who may need a little extra reinforcements.
We need whiteboards and markers to help with our phonics lessons. This is also a fun way to engage students in their learning.
Making learning fun and exciting is one of my main goals and I would love to give my students the best year!
