My Students
Students in my class rely on hands-on materials to learn and explore about Science. Students use their 5 senses to make observations at the Science Centers.
I work in an inner city school, with a high percentage of low income families.
The ages of the special education students I teach range from 3-12 years. The majority of my young students are on the Autism Spectrum. My students learn best through hands-on activities in small group activities.
My Project
My students need test tubes sets, a magnifier set, magnetic cars kits, magnetic rings sets, sink/float kits, a motion kit, a tool kit, moving mats, and a bridge and a block kit.
Students will predict, discuss and experiments with the Science Tools at each Science Center. They will investigate with tools such as magnets, magnifying glasses and simple machines. Student will work in small group to explore the properties of sink and float. Students will record their findings after each activity.
This Science project will provide my students with developmentally appropriate materials that will motivate students to become scientists.
Student will develop the skills needed to think, act, talk and record like real scientists.
