Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This is a donation request for 2 schools. We are both "Lions" and "Tigers" and we are encouraged to ROAR: R- Respect/Responsibility demonstrated, O- On Time Everyday, A- Active Learners, R- Reading Everyday. We focus on Art & Life skills through creativity, teamwork and technology. We have a classroom climate where children develop their leadership skills, pursue their goals and learn to succeed within the education system and in their life/career choices beyond school. We believe our school should be an environment where all students can learn with fair treatment to all. We want students to know that we care about each of them.
My Project
We have been putting together art kits at both of my Title 1 schools to help students with their remote learning for the fall. Some items, like pencils, erasers and crayons are covered by their regular classroom supplies, but certain art supplies will help with certain projects which are tied to their academic curriculum. Black markers help our Grand Canyon landscapes to come to life, Model Magic will help our 2nd Graders to create their own "Owl Moon", based on the beloved children's book by Jane Yolen. These are just a few examples where these supplies will benefit our students.
