Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students require specialized instruction within the classroom and I want to be able to provide them support in their homes! My students have varying disabilities and individual needs that are not being met due to school closures. Not every student is able to engage in online learning or have the access to that technology.
My students need hands-on materials to continue their learning and maintain the progress they made this school year!
As of March 13th, my students began learning from home. The school will be closed due to the COVID-19 virus for the rest of the school year. This presents a challenge, as most of my students do not have access to supplies in their homes. So many of my students made tremendous progress during the school year and I want to be able to support their learning from home.
My Project
My students need materials they can use at home to maintain and extend their learning. The materials I am requesting will support their learning across all domains! When we were in the classroom, the students had customized activities that they completed daily. With the students learning from home, they do not have those activities available to them.
Parents and students are going through a lot and I want to make the students' learning a little easier on them!
With the laminator, file folders, ink, velcro, and TpT gift card I will be able to create sorting, matching, number, and letter recognition file folder activities for each individual student. They will be able to use these materials every day to maintain their skills. These activities provide instruction for them that are geared towards their own specific goals!
