Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Kindergarten students speak six languages and represent six countries! My students are curious, energetic, and they love learning.

My students spend their day learning in both English and Spanish.

We are a low income, dual language community school, where everyone knows each other. They have built such a close community and really help one another grow as friends and learners. They do not always have all of the resources they need at home, but they care so much about learning.

My Project

Every year, my students come to me with new and different strengths, abilities and challenges. Each year I am learning something new about the skills my students are and are not coming to my classroom with.

My classroom is full of students with different skills and I want to be able to meet each student's individual needs.

I need sensory materials of different textures, to help us get our energy out, learn some new skills and become comfortable with different senses around us. Kindergarten is such a crucial year and I would love to be able to address some of these challenges before they leave my classroom!

Each student needs something to be successful, and I hope to be able to provide them those tools that they need to get to their full potential.
