My Students

For the past 13 years, I have been a classroom teacher for 5th grades, 3rd grade, and kindergarten. This school year I will begin a new adventure serving as a special education teacher. Over the years, I have always had a special place in my heart for helping the most vulnerable learners. My special education students enter school with a wide range of emotional and learning needs. I teach at a Title I school, which means that more than 40% of our population qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch. About half of our students speak a second language. . They come from diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. All of them are eager to feel respected, cared for, and supported.

My Project

I am looking forward to a wonderful school year. I have several students on my caseload and each child has special learning and emotional needs. I am a loving and dedicated teacher, and I know that I have so much to offer my special group of students.

Students learn best in an engaging and supportive classroom.

Several of the items I am requesting are for reading instruction, others are for organization and social emotional support. The materials I am requesting will make lessons more engaging or are intended to help my students concentrate or better manage their emotions. Thank you for your kindness and for considering to help my classroom!
