Special Students Need Hands on Learning for Life Skills
Help me give my students hands on opportunities to practice life-skills and math knowledge.

My Project
I will be using the lamination pouches to create task folders and boxes. These boxes include items such as, "Where do these clothes go?" and images with velcro. The students then sort either the dresser or the hamper. Also, to incorporate higher skills, folders are created with "Is it a letter or a number?" with velcro images of letters and numbers for student sorting.
My students have severe special education needs and these manipulatives will make learning more hands on than a regular book lesson.
My diverse learners love to handle objects for learning.
Manipulative items for math acquisition is always helpful. Students are able to physical touch and handle objects to understand abstract ideas. Counting individual items is a struggle for my students. They often cannot count above 5, the traditional number of fingers, because the concept becomes unmanageable.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
