it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In an urban setting, schools can become crowded with children of all sorts of needs and resources can be scarce. My children have special needs and require more support than are typically needed. I try to make learning fun and stress-free. In order for my children to succeed, I make sure they are happy and have access to anything I can provide for them if it means they'll be able to access the curriculum with less difficulty.
My students have unique minds and abilities.
They amaze me everyday! They work hard and push past obstacles. They have days that are more difficult than others, but they always manage to get a smile back onto their faces!
My Project
These special stability ball chairs will provide my children with special needs the support they need to stay focused. These chairs are wobbly and subconsciously cause the children to keep themselves balanced while at their desks.
Studies have shown that these chairs are extremely helpful in supporting children with the ability to focus while sitting because they unknowingly engage their muscles to keep upright while doing schoolwork.
Therefore, they are less likely to get the urge to get out of their seats or to do something that will lead them to get off task. In the earlier grades this is especially difficult for children to achieve, so the extra support would do wonders for them!
