This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students belong to low-incident program and was greatly affected by the school closure. Remote learning is not the same for them. After two years of staying at home, the learning gap and regression was so significant, that we have to deal with their socio-emotional needs before their learning needs since they are in special education.

We want our students to get back to developing their gross and fine motor skills through Special Olympics Sports training.

We will be starting to learn how to play basketball by learning how to dribble and shoot. Unfortunately, we do not have enough basketballs and different ball sizes appropriate for our students. We also need shorter hoops for smaller children.

We want to teach them various sports and see how they could excel with exposure in developing healthy hobbies and passion. These materials will be a lifetime change for our kids that will greatly impact their future.
