This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For my special needs student, learning about how plants grow offers an enriching and empowering educational experience. By engaging in hands-on activities such as planting seeds, observing germination, and caring for plants, my student not only gains practical skills but also fosters a sense of responsibility and independence. Through this process, they develop important cognitive and sensory skills, such as sequencing, fine motor coordination, and sensory integration, which are crucial for their overall development. Moreover, understanding the life cycle of plants provides my student with a tangible connection to the natural world, sparking curiosity and wonder about the environment around them. We are requesting Coco Coir Brick for Plants, Starter Soil Mix, Indoor Self Watering Planters, Plant Pots and more to learn the process of growing plants and learning about their contribution to Earth.

In addition to the individual benefits, learning about plant growth also instills a sense of environmental stewardship and conservation in my student.

By exploring concepts such as photosynthesis, water cycle, and soil health, they gain a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of all living organisms and their dependence on the Earth's resources. Through hands-on gardening activities and discussions about sustainable practices, my student learns how their actions can positively impact the environment. This knowledge not only empowers them to make informed choices but also cultivates a sense of empathy and responsibility towards the Earth and its ecosystems, nurturing a lifelong commitment to environmental sustainability.
