A typical day in my classroom is nothing but typical. I teach grades Kindergarten through Fifth grade this year. I always greet my students with a Good morning and they come in ready to start their day. I want my children at the end of this year to be able to understand numbers and math.
I teach Exceptional children and I have the honor of having the very best students.
They are loving and kind. I teach at a Title I school which serves more than 66 percent free and reduced lunch. Our school is a great school but due to budget cuts we are unable to get much needed supplies. Exceptional students need hands on materials in order to learn.
My Project
My students will use the games to have a hands on way of learning how to count and identify number. The linking chain game will be used by my Kinders in order to recognize their numbers and learn to count in a very fun manner. The tens frames will be used by my older students to understand how to add, how to find missing numbers and how to subtract.
Donations to my class not only help me as a teacher but you are helping exceptional students be able to learn and develop math skills.
I can not think of a better way to change the world than to help my students be able to obtain a quality education. All children can learn. My students just need someone to share my vision for them. Help us be able to learn math.
