This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a special education teacher, it makes me so proud when my students begin reading and doing simple math. Each of my students have IEPs or individual education plans which contain goals and objectives for them to master each year. Every student is different and all the goals are different. You can imagine how difficult it is to get materials for each student grades K-5.
Having new educational materials such as Unifix Cubes, Base 10 blocks, and CVC reading activities will help my students to remain engage while learning.
My students will be using these materials for one on one instruction sessions. They work best when materials are colorful, contain picture supports, and are something new or different. The butterfly nets will be used for our insect and life cycle units.
