Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am working as a Special Ed Teacher and working with moderate intellectual disabilities. My students are very creative, thoughtful and works with visual and verbal models and also needs more online resource materials and craft materials to work on different activities and to make them learning process easier.

Most of my students needs simplified instruction and modified curriculum and assistive technology due to their cognitive difficulties.

All of my students are caring and innocent and love to learn and like to socialize with peers and following the routines and respect everyone. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative learning options by using the AAC device and picture models to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!

As a teacher, I love to work with special needs and I feel everyday their smile and happiness deeply touches me and fills my world with pleasures.

My Project

My special need students are struggling to learn and understand literacy and math concepts. My students want to explore different manipulatives to learn and understand the word building concepts and counting and money concepts and also want to improve their sentence building skills.

Effective materials help special needs to understand the concepts easily.

As a classroom teacher wants to experience my students to use the different manipulatives and different learning methods to build the vocabulary and math skills stronger. These materials not only helps my students learning and help them to build their confidence and enhance their potentials to success in their life.
