My Students
I teach some amazing students. I teach Special Education in a school in a small town. My students do amazing things everyday. I am amazed by the student who conquers their fear of entering a noisy room everyday. I am blessed to hear my students begin to communicate their wants and needs. I have heard students utter their first words in my classroom. I have watched them begin to string together 3-5 words to make sentences.
We celebrate all learning in my classroom.
Whether it is a big or small accomplishment, it is huge in our classroom. I teach the most amazing students you will ever meet. Even faced with Autism, they do amazing things each and everyday. I am so grateful that I get to learn from them.
My Project
Our classroom runs on laminating sheets. My students are often working on the same skill for months at a time. It is important that we keep materials reusable and durable. Laminating our supplies helps keep them reusable for many weeks and sometimes months.
When a student learns a new skill in our classroom they will often work on it in 3 settings to make sure they have generalized the material.
It is important that my students have a variety of learning materials and almost all of their materials require some sort of laminating to make it durable for repeated use.
