This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school where I would love to provide my students with the opportunity to interact with technology more often in the classroom. As a teacher in a low-income, rural area, my students face many challenges both inside and out of the classroom. It is up to me to provide them with a positive and enjoyable learning environment. My students have an endless desire to learn.
Hurricane Florence caused massive flooding in our community.
Homes in our community were flooded and many homes are still not repaired.
It is my challenge to motivate and engage the very curious and relax the highly energized so that all of my students feel confident in their learning environment.
I want them to walk in from day one and feel safe, loved, and part of our class, ready to accomplish anything! My students are creative, inspiring, and their love for learning creates excitement throughout the school.
Our school serves middle school students grades 6-8 with a dedication to high rigorous standards, community and school involvement, and a safe learning environment. We have a dedicated staff that truly cares about their students.
My Project
We use a variety of technology in our room for a variety of tasks that need to be completed daily. I'd like to get one set of AirPods and an Apple TV. My students do a variety of tasks (read-to-me-ebooks, podcasts, reading tests, math tasks, etc.) each day on our technology. With so much going on with technology, an Apple TV and headphones...or in this case AirPods are a must to continue the harmony in our room.
I'm asking for one set of AirPods and an Apple TV to allow the students to do these tasks.
These will be used to target the specific learning needs of individuals in our classroom.
An Apple TV is a great tool to display student work on the screen and to watch various educational content on bigger screens.
The AirPods are a fabulous addition because they're small and quickly recharged. They can easily be accessed by any of my students. I'm looking forward to getting this resources into our room.
