This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic, loving, and courageous. Every day they come to school full of energy and ready to learn. Having my students come to preschool is such a huge deal. Specifically because the preschool setting is so crucial for early interventions that make it possible for students to eventually transition out of special education and back into the general ed classroom. My preschool class has special needs and they still are very loving to each other. Each student is learning to play with each other, communicate with each other, and how to support each other. It takes courage for my students to try new things and to stay on task. Special education classes are places where students have the opportunity to grow and I hope to make the best community in my classroom for this.

My Project

My students have such great enthusiasm when we work on art projects. That I believe having more material at their use will benefit them exponentially. As we work on sorting with the new materials, students will learn how to distinguish patterns, use fine motor skills, and work together with their peers.

ART is very underfunded in the United States, and special education kids get neglected from the freedom to explore different arts and materials.

I want to encourage exploration and learning with new material within the arts. I want my students to get the opportunity to use art as a jumping off point for their potential to learn. Thank you!
