Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am honored to share what I love most about my students in the SPED resource room, and to explain how each of the resources we're requesting will directly support their journey back to and beyond their grade-level benchmarks.

What I Love About My Students

Resilience: Despite academic gaps and life challenges, they show up every day ready to try again.

Curiosity: Their questions from “Why does that word sound different?” to “How can I make this equation work?” drive our lessons forward.

Rich Cultural Perspectives: Our classroom community represents families from across the globe. Their backgrounds spark meaningful discussions and help all of us see problems from new angles.

Heart and Humor: Even on tough days, they encourage one another with a smile or a silly joke. That camaraderie fuels our learning.

How Each Resource Will Help Them Thrive

When they’re able to regulate their bodies, they can fully engage in reading, writing, and math lessons without distraction. The use of wobble stools can keep the student's body moving but their mind focused.

I want my students to be able to focus on the academic work we are doing. To help them be able to input that information they need to be able to get their fidgets out and be able to stem when they need to. The fidget and sensory tools listed will be a game changer in my classroom.

Together, these resources create an environment where every child can experience consistent wins, rebuild foundational skills, and step confidently back to grade level. I believe in their potential wholeheartedly, and with your support, I know we can help them achieve it.
