Special Education PE Supplies Needed

My students need PE and outdoor supplies as our adaptive PE teacher is unable to work with our older students this school year.

My Students

North Platte High School Transition House is a public school program that serves mild, moderately and severe disabled 18-21 year old students that are still enrolled to help with building independent living skills. These students work on general life skills; cooking, cleaning, transportation, getting involved in the community as well as job skills where they go off site to work with various businesses in the community such as Walgreens, Walmart, ShopKo, The Hospital and so on. Each month they participate in a community outing where they learn about how to access and use the community and the services around them as well as learn what they do. Each student works on goals through the Unique Learning curriculum throughout a 2 year matriculation time span.

My Project

This year our adaptive PE teacher is stretched super thin. Our house program students are preparing for real world situations where they do not have a PE teacher and need to know how they can stay active. These supplies will be used daily for our 18-21 year old students to work on fine and gross motor skills along with physical fitness. Students will also be participating in community walking, swimming once a week at the local community center, frisbee golf and more. These supplies are greatly needed to work with students who will no longer have PE and access to a PE teacher.
