My Students

My students are incredible little geniuses in their own individual way. They are special education students who are in the general education setting and see me for their learning support. I teach a resource room class with students in a K-4 building. My students have needs all over the map, and so my classroom needs are very diverse. I have students who can read at a fourth-grade level but can’t add or subtract numbers. I have others who can read but can’t comprehend a word that they read.

I love my students and my job such as a painter loves each brush stroke in an oil painting, each unique with lots of imperfections but together they are whole and beautiful.

My Project

Students will use Versatiles, self-correcting math games, to work in groups or partnerships within the special education classroom. Versatiles have been around a very long time and have been used by millions of teachers. They are proven to be excellent at keeping the students continually engaged without the use of technology. I plan to use these tiles as a math station for my K-4th grade Resource Room Special Education students. I group students together regardless of age or ability and they can still enjoy these tiles together. Thank you so much for considering donating for Versatiles.
