My Students

I am a special education teacher and I work with children with a range of disabilities. I have students with autism, ADHD, intellectual processing disorder, behavioral disorders, and many students that are English Language Learners and speak English as a second language. My students need to experience a classroom that goes beyond pencil and paper. In order for me to go the extra mile and plan activities that are engaging and help them learn, I would love to have more technological resources in my classroom as well as basic school supplies. My students come from all different socioeconomic backgrounds but they are a group of brilliant students that genuinely want to learn. They just need the right outlets to show their gifts.

My Project

This iPad will help my students have more access to technology that is very present in the current society. They can use the iPad to independently work on their reading and mathematics skills. The books would be so beneficial to my students. Julia Cook is an author that explains social situations and how to take care of yourself in a way that is non-confrontational for young students. I am very dedicated to developing the whole child in my students and making sure that their academics and social skills both show progression. Please help me make this possible in my classroom!
