Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The items selected for this project are going to be used for an initiative to set up a classroom reward store. My special education students thrive off of positive reinforcements and reward incentives. When they know rewards are on the way, their behaviors and academic performance are heightened. I want to set up this store, especially as the year is ending, to reinforce those positive behaviors and let my students know that their rigor and hard work do not go unnoticed.

With the classroom reward store, students will be able to shop from the wide variety of prizes to choose from that will be given to them in honor of their rigor, hard work, positive behavior, and academic excellence!

I have seen firsthand how much rewards and incentives can reshape behavior, attending to class and the drive to complete excellent work. Especially, my special education students. I want to show them how much they mean to me, as well as how much their hard work and positive behaviors can bring them good and exciting things!
