My Students

Our classroom teaches students with special needs in grades 4 and 5. Some of our students need support with reading and writing, some are progressing in math, some need help with all academic areas, and others have autism. Our students are wonderful, bright minds who are not defined by their disabilities. These items for our classroom will help my students be prepared and organized; and will help to provide them with hands on, direct learning. These will be the tools our students use to learn! By helping our classroom, you are assisting our children in accomplishing their goals and highlighting their strengths! Thank you!

My Project

The math products and tools will give my students a chance to experience hands-on, multi-sensory, direct learning. My students with disabilities learn more concretely when given manipulatives, tactiles, and objects to actually experience their learning with more than just auditory and visuals.

Seeing and feeling what they are learning about enhances our student's success and allows them to comprehend the material even more than they would with pencil and paper.

In our class, our students use a specific decoding approach to improve their reading skills. This requires supplies like highlighters, dry erase boards, pencils, etc. This approach is very detailed and organized. I teach this individualized approach to almost all of my students. Also, when my students test, almost all of them receive read aloud and need headphones to listen on their devices.

Providing these items to our classroom helps them be prepared, organized, and ready to learn successfully!
