My Project

Every year we have families in my class that experience hardship. It may be a loss of a job, food insecurity or housing insecurity. This year was exceptionally challenging. We are asking for pediasure for our students who need extra calories, gloves and diapers to meet personal hygiene needs as well as clothes. All of these items will be used directly with students at school and given to there caregivers at home.

Research tells us that for a student to learn they MUST have basic needs met such as food, clothing and feeling safe.

This project is focusing on getting students ready to learn by meeting there needs before instruction begins.

Not only can we help my students but their caregivers that need some relief from the daily struggles. Education is much more about learning, it is creating a safe learning community for our students and there caregivers.
