Special Education Enhanced Learning

My students need bins, book bins, pocket chart squares, dry erase pockets and crayons to make their daily routines more manageable.

My Students

My students are a part of a fully self-contained class. They are wonderful students that need a little extra help when it comes to academics. They range from kindergarten to third grade. It is such a fun class each and every day. The students really do love to learn!

Most of these students come from high poverty/low income homes.

They love to wiggle, make things with their hands, and have books read to them. These students make me excited to come to work everyday.

My Project

The students in my Special Education classroom need to work on their school work independently. It is important to help them organize their work. Because most of the students I work with are visual learners that like thing in a certain order, the supplies I ordered will allow them to sort their daily work into manageable parts. They will not be overwhelmed by seeing baskets with their name on it. It is a source of pride to be able to finish an assignment independently. This is what we are striving for in my classroom.

Independence is the key to a successful classroom.

Our classroom is not like other classrooms, it is a fully self-contained room. Bins will have each student's name on them. In the bin will be the work that needs to be completed for the day. The students will be able to see what needs to be done because of their bin. Magnetic charts pocket charts will allow the students to physically manipulate their letters and numbers. Storage pocket charts will allow students to turn in work and help keep centers in order. Dry erase pocket charts will be put into bins to cut down on the amount of copies we make. Crayons are always in need. My students love to color, and I love how they use their fine motor skills to do this task. This school has a high military presence, but also have low-income families that attend. The supplies will help us to help the students become independent in their work each day. Thank you.
