Special Education Classroom Needs Books That Target Reading Goals

Help me give my students the desire to read with books that are both interesting and relate to lessons that are taught in class.

My Project

We have a special education classroom for second and third grade students. I teach both reading and math. My students have a variety of learning disabilities including autism, behavioral, dyslexia, and mild cognitive delays to name a few. Their learning disabilities in the area of reading can also affect their ability to read and do math problems, including but not limited to story problems. The books I am requesting focus on phonic skills. My students have particular difficulty with long and short vowel sounds and sight words. These books will help my students study phonics in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere with learning necessary skills. The skills they learn using these books will help them advance their reading abilities and transfer to skills necessary for math.
