This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my K-5 special education classroom we focus on life skills, which includes communication and fine motor/writing. It is a goal of mine to have all my students be able to sign their own name and that skill does not come easy to most of my students. To help them with fine motor I asked for adapted scissors, design rollers with paint, pop and play stacking, fine motor tool set, hide and seek farm activity board, sorting buckets, a magic board to practice writing, matching activity board, dress up doll and pretend activity board.

Communication using an iPad is another skill that would give my students the freedom to communicate their wants and needs.

It would also allow them to communicate with their friends and family. To help with communication I also asked for laminating paper, velcro, and magnets for picture communication. Fidgets were asked for motivation to communicate for an item.

This project would help my students reach those goals for independence.
