Special Education Basics

Help me give my students a wonderful start to a brand new year. This project provides our special education class with the necessities such as a laminator, seat cushions, essential oils, a diffuser, and several other items.

My Students

I am a first-year teacher and have not yet met my students. I will meet my entire class on 8/7/19 and will update this description ASAP. From what I hear, I have an amazing group of friendly and kind students.

Our special education class will have 8 spectacular students with a wide range of strengths and capabilities.

I have students who love arts and crafts, cooking, dancing, singing, and sports.

I am very excited to start this year off strong!

My Project

This project will be used to start our year off right! A laminator, laminating sheets, and velcro dots are all needed when developing work in special education classes. One classroom routine will be to "clock in and out" by writing their name and time. The pencil grips will assist my students who need extra support in their fine motor handwriting skills.

The essential oils, diffuser, and seat cushions will be used to create a sensory-friendly space.

The putty will have multiple purposes- sensory, reinforcement, and hand strengthening. The Legos will be used for reinforcement, following written/visual instructions, and occupational therapy.
