My Project
As a SPED teacher with multiple disabilities, behaviors, and modalities within the class, I need a way to give students within my class avenues to de-escalate themselves and/or find time to take a break. Kids with special needs should incorporate play into their day. Many kids have take frequent breaks in specialized plans.
The Legos and lego table will give my students an opportunity to have structured breaks within the class for play or de-escalation of emotional and mental behaviors.
It is important to have a variety of strategies to offset different behaviors.
