I have been a librarian for the last fourteen years. Each year I see students come and go and although their faces change their needs stay the same. We have a large population of students with specific learning needs that are not being met. These learning needs range from autism, mental and physical disability and students with a limited English background. Our library does not have a collection of books that are specifically designed to meet the needs of these students.
I would like to purchase books that would address specific learning needs for these students. The books would be housed in the school library and would be available to these students and the teachers who work with them.

Usually, these books have English words on one page and the same words in Spanish on the next page. This would allow parents the materials to read to their child in Spanish or English.
