My Project
My room is a self-contained class of kindergarten and first graders. My students' abilities range in multiple ways. Many of my students enjoy different sensory outlets in books that stimulate them both academically and mentally.
A range of different sensory tools will enrich my students' learning.
The lower-level baby books, sensory books, as well as the braille books will help me meet my students' needs who are lower functioning. These students will enjoy the sensory outlet that keeps them engaged in their learning. This will also help them develop their reading and understanding of print. I also want a small set of Spanish books to enrich my students who are English Language Learners and feel represented in my classroom by having print available in their home language. This will also build their independence since they will feel comfortable reading books on their own without struggling.
