This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a Kindergarten ICT class with 21 students. There are many students in the class who have a disability, and the Speakaboos interactive stories would really enhance their focus.
My students are young and curious learners with a need for technology.
We are located in a high poverty area of Brooklyn with limited resources. My students with disabilities are always interested in technology and a subscription to Speakaboos would really help them stay engaged and learn to read while having fun.
My Project
I am requesting 1 subscription to Speakaboos interactive books to motivate students with disabilities. After doing research on Speakaboos, I know that my students will use Speakaboos daily during center time and during our reading block. We can do many activities with these resources, such as creating our own stories, learning various story elements, and learning how to read.
This project will make a difference in my students' lives because they will be using wonderful technology to aid their growth in reading.
The subscription to Speakaboos would be beneficial to our classroom because the students can gain confidence and motivation to become life long readers.
