They are 10 to 11 year old students in which English is their native tongue and are learning Spanish as a secondary language. These students do a lot of listening, speaking, and anything else to understand and develop this new Spanish language. They are 5th graders that began learning, listening, and speaking Spanish in kindergarten. Because listening to native speakers is so important, my students need as much as possible time listening to native Spanish speakers from all over the world.
My Project
These headphones with microphones will allow my Spanish Immersion students to listen and speak Spanish throughout their school day. To listen and speak Spanish daily is key to practicing what the learn and know. There is a quote that says, speaking is key to learning a new language and it is by the thousands of mistakes you make. There are programs that we have as a class, but require the microphone to be implemented. This is why my students need to be able to hear native speakers, speak often and daily, and be able to practice their Spanish every day
