My Project
Hello everyone,
I am a speech therapist at two elementary schools and I have a large number of students who are struggling with their ability to speak clearly and produce sounds that are necessary to talk and communicate.
They have trouble mainly with the R, L, SH, CH, and S sounds, but now, I am seeing uncommon sounds, as well.
Although this has always been a part of my job, I have been experiencing a record amount of students who are challenged in this area, which leads to frustration, refusal to speak or practice, and overall difficulty with social interactions.
I recently received a bundle of cards similar to the one I am requesting, and it has been a game changer! The cards a colorful, simple, and have funny cartoons which bring humor and levity to an activity which can be on the dull side because it involves repetition (and more repetition!). I was surprised when I started hearing my students saying, "I'm doing the blue set," or, "I'm on the pink set," in reference to the color of the boxes of the cards. They actually like the practice cards!
I recently had a mother contact me and say she has noticed a recent difference in her daughter's speech, and I think these cards are a huge reason why.
Please help me to expand what I can offer to my students with more of these cards. I will use them daily and keep them for my whole career. Nothing will be used temporarily or discarded after a few times. These are gold and I will treat them as such.
