Sparkle, Splash, and Science: An End-of-Year Celebration!

Help me give my students a fun and unforgettable science finale with constellations, slime, galaxy jars, and hands-on discovery they’ll never forget!

My Project

After a full year of hard work, growth, and curiosity, my 4th grade scientists deserve a magical send-off! To celebrate their success, I’m planning a hands-on, art-infused science week that combines creativity with chemistry, Earth science, and space exploration. Our celebration will end with a Science & Art Gallery walk for parents during the last week of school.

With your support, students will participate in six memorable lab experiences:

Constellation Splatter Paint – Students create glowing constellations tied to our space unit using paint and star guides.

Magic Milk Experiment – A colorful chemistry reaction using milk, dish soap, and food coloring.

Lava & Galaxy Jars – Calm jars made with oil, glitter, and color to explore density and movement.

Glow-in-the-Dark Slime – A student favorite exploring polymers and chemical reactions.

Walking Rainbow Water Lab – A visual rainbow that teaches capillary action and color mixing.

Play-Doh Earth Layers – Students model and label Earth’s crust, mantle, outer core, and inner core.

These projects blend science with creativity and bring joy to students after state testing. Our gallery event will let families witness the exciting learning happening in our classroom.

Materials Needed:

Paint, black paper, constellation templates, food coloring, dish soap, milk, glitter, jars, baby oil, glue, saline solution, Play-Doh, paper towels, cups, and labels.

With your help, our room will transform into a science wonderland. These memories—and the learning behind them—will last far beyond the last day of school.
