My Project
I teach a self-contained class of third through fifth grade students with diverse learning needs. My students are bright, curious, and eager to engage in hands-on, meaningful learning experiences. They benefit from multi-sensory, differentiated instruction that allows them to explore and problem-solve in creative ways. Despite their challenges, they consistently show determination, resilience, and a strong desire to grow their skills.
I am requesting two Sphero Indi robots to bring coding and STEM concepts to life in our classroom.
Sphero Indi is an entry-level robot designed specifically for young learners, making it perfect for my students. It allows students to code through color tiles, promoting computational thinking, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving—without the need for screens or advanced tech skills.
This resource will support not only STEM learning but also key IEP goals related to communication, teamwork, sequencing, and following directions. It provides an engaging, accessible way to practice persistence, take risks in learning, and celebrate success—all essential skills for students with special needs.
By introducing Sphero Indi, I aim to open new doors for my students to experience the joy of coding and robotics in a way that meets them at their level. It will give them a voice through technology and build confidence in their ability to think critically and creatively.
Thank you for supporting inclusive, hands-on STEM learning in our classroom!
