This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are dreamers, tinkerers, and creators. They come from diverse backgrounds and communities that are often underrepresented in the fields of science, technology, and design. While they have limitless imagination, many have limited access to the tools and technologies that help bring their ideas to life.

We’re reimagining our school library as an inclusive makerspace — a vibrant center where innovation meets equity.

Here, students of all backgrounds can design, prototype, and build, while seeing themselves as future engineers, artists, and leaders.

The missing piece? A laser cutter that can cut and engrave wood, acrylic, leather, and more — a tool that will open doors for students to express their identities, tell their stories, and create projects that reflect their cultures and communities.

This project requests a laser cutter and accessories to bring this vision to life. By giving our students access to professional-grade tools, we are not just fostering creativity — we’re making space for representation, voice, and opportunity in the world of making.
