My Project
In my classroom, students are grouped by similar reading levels and work together to meet differentiated learning goals. Accessing these articles will support me in teaching and supporting different reading levels. The images, readings, interviews, and captions within the articles function as various tools that can be utilized to target specific learning goals. While students might all be focusing on the same passage, I am to use the images and captions throughout the passage to differentiate learning. Given the immense shift to technology in education, these articles will be a classroom favorite!
Integrating the use of magazines in the classroom will spark lively engagement!
In a classroom where students come from large families that live in poverty, access to books and magazines at home is limited. Having the ability to access recurring magazine articles will give students exposure to literature in other academic contexts that they would not normally have access to, while simultaneously creating a rich and engaging learning environment.
Our social studies block will be enriched with a subscription to a current event magazine that will spark engaging conversations related to our daily learning. Through academic magazines, my students will be able to grow as global citizens as they learn about the world they live in through captivating articles.
