My Project
Reading for fun seems like such a chore for some of my students. With their past few years in elementary, some of them have struggled with sparking joy in reading. If it's not something that I am assigning, I can only capture the attention of a few students.
This opportunity to provide a variety of novels for my inclusion classroom could be the chance for them to spark joy in reading.
These novels may interest students in reading because they can relate to the characters, plot, and other fictional elements. By allowing them to see a range of topics, they may want to read more because they can actually make connections to the stories. It also allows my students with disabilities to have the chance to read books that are interesting and fun!
I would love to encourage joyful reading for fun, not just because they have to. If they can find novels that they like, they can branch out to others by the same author, or look for stories that are similar to their lives. I would love the to see my students' joy for reading flourish!
