My students are four-year-olds with and without varying special needs. Students are identified through the Child Find process and are given the opportunity to access the preschool setting to provide a foundation for the rest of their learning careers.
I provide an individualized, developmentally appropriate, multi-modal approach to learning with an emphasis on communication, emergent academic skills, and development of the whole child through meaningful play.
Students benefit from having access to a variety of therapists (OT, PT, SLP, and Social Worker), as well as a special education teacher.
The OSMO requested in this project is magic! It is fun-filled & award winning technology that allows students to interact with actual hand held pieces & an iPad, bringing a preschool child's game pieces & actions to life.
The OSMO will allow us to focus on hands-on letter formation (ABCs), create pictures with sticks/rings (Squiggle Magic), dress/feed a character (Costume Party) & bring animals to life enabling problem solving, learning of letters & creativity!
The OSMO will be used as an independent learning center during our center rotations. Two students will use the OSMO at one time, allowing us to also target turn-taking and social/emotional learning objectives!
