This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class consists of twenty-five kindergarteners who are curious to learn all about the world. I try my best to create a classroom environment that is warm and inviting. Children should be excited to try new things and take risks.
My students are funny, creative, hard-working individuals.
Most of them come from low income households and I want to provide them with opportunities to succeed in the classroom as well as throughout life. I want to instill in them a love of reading and math as well as science.
My Project
My students start school as wide-eyed 5 year olds- some never having been in a school setting before. My job is to make them feel comfortable and accepted so that school can be a place where they can take risks and be adventurous on their own learning path.
This project is raising money to buy tablets and accessories for my classroom that students will use to get to use for individualized literacy instruction.
Students will be engaged as they play letter and word games. Their progress will be tracked through various apps and each student will work toward achieving their individualized goals.
