Help me give my students engaging books, that they can't put down. I hope to hook my fifth grade readers from the start of the year with graphic novels, fantasy, and great writing.

My Project

This year, I will be making a big jump from teaching kindergarten to fifth grade! While my collection of picture books will still come in handy at times, I need chapter books for my students to read. One effective way to improve children's reading skills is to let them practice reading with books they love. Coaching students toward independent reading will also prepare them for the independence they will need in middle school.

Please help fill my classroom library with engaging graphic novels, fantasy fiction and award winning books.

Students will use these books to not only read for fun, but also to learn to analyze texts and become critical thinkers. These are life long learning skills that will help the children be engaged citizens.
