Help me give my students an updated library of books to support their introduction to print, literacy, and keep the spark of learning through reading alive.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are motivated and hard workers. They are a sweet and caring group of students who benefit from individualized support to continue to learn and grow. They are always ready to learn and bring joy and enthusiasm to our small group sessions.
My students support each other and motivate one another to continue to learn and push through difficult situations and challenging activities.
My Project
Help me update my therapy sessions library of books.
I recently started searching for books to incorporate into my therapy sessions and found that many of the books available at my site were outdated and not engaging at all.
I use books in my sessions to introduce children to print, to work on phonics, target sight words, and to encourage and expose them to language, vocabulary, and grammar.
Books are a great way to inspire creativity, engage imagination, and encourage an interest in print.
These book packs from Scholastics are a great way to start to bring my small library vision to life as they include a variety of themes. picture books, and target ages K-3rd grade.
