This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Ninety percent of our amazing students live below or near the poverty line. About 60% of our students are learning English in school. Sometimes our school struggles to get the resources we need to teach and care for our incredible students. This makes the job of a school even more important.
Many students we teach experience poverty, but that's just where they are starting.
Our students love to create art and read. They write computer code and even perform Shakespeare. They have big dreams, let's help them reach for those dreams!
My Project
All year, our students have bounced between in-person and virtual learning. Currently we have some students in school and some students still learning from home. To make this work, we need a little help. We need books for lessons, phonics posters to help them sound out words, and book binds to keep everything organized.
My students love school, but we don't have some of the things we need to help kids with reading; let's fix that!
With your help, the eager readers in my class will have everything they need to spark a love of reading.
