Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My school and my students participate in enrichment classes on a rotating basis. My enrichment class is Spanish. We have students with many different skill sets. Some of my students are beginning language learners, and some have Spanish as a part of their first language. These books will provide continued access to Spanish and English in print.
These books will provide enriching texts to help extend student learning, and provide enrichment for students who already have spanish as a part of their first language.
Many students who are bilingual do not routinely have access to bilingual texts and having these books will help provide equitable representation of our diverse community.
