My Project
Many students have a RICH Spanish language from home and want to learn to read in Spanish. Students who read in Spanish, which only takes 3 months, learn to read in English MUCH quicker because decoding words and especially vowels in Spanish is regular unlike English. These decoding skills are then used in learning to read in English.
Students will borrow books in Spanish to read at home and become bilterate. They can use these skills to pass the high school foreign language equivalency test to earn 4 years of Spanish. Let's help set these students up for being global citizens.
