My Project

My English Language Learners love to be read to and I love reading to them. Unfortunately, I am not bilingual, so I need to depend on Spanish read-aloud books for my ELL students to hear read-alouds in their home language.

Pre-K ELL students can listen to stories in their home language which enhances literacy development and social emotional learning skills.

Reading plays a huge role in becoming successful in school. These materials will allow my students more opportunities throughout the day to be read to; therefore, building a stronger foundation for the love of reading.

These materials will not only build a stronger foundation for reading but they also allow them to build skills in all areas of development. Through literacy, their imaginations take hold of the world around them and provide them with ways to cope, problem solve, and explore. PreK children will soon be leaders of the world so make that difference; allow them to be leaders by helping me provide more opportunities for my students to read. My PreK students will be able to choose which books they want to listen and read along to, which enhances peer relations as well as comprehension skills.
