This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students enter my classroom eager to learn every morning. They recite the school pledge (promesa de la escuela), get their homework checked, and we start our day!

My students are a very diverse group with a thirst for learning.

Since this is a dual language program, all of my students are bilingual. This means they can speak, read and write in both Spanish and English. They are all enthusiastic individuals who get excited when it comes to more opportunities to enrich themselves.

My Project

With these resources, students will be able to practice their Spanish oral language through fun games. The books will also engage them and help them find reading in Spanish to be fun. Since the students alternate weeks, some of these books are available in English as well. This means that they can read the same book throughout the weeks, even though the language of instruction for the week has changed. The speakers and dongles will allow the teacher to provide more ways to take advantage of technology and expose the students to other engaging activities.

These donations will help my classroom in a variety of ways.

They will help me keep the students engaged and I will be able to offer them more opportunities to keep the students interested in all the topics that we are covering in class.
