Spanish Fiction for My English Language Learners

Help me give my students books they want to read in their own language, like Dog Man, Enola Holmes, and the Harry Potter series!

My Project

I have many students who are learning English as a second language. While I have a variety of interesting books to support them, I'd like to add books in their home languages as well.

Kids read more when they have access to books they enjoy.

Many of my kids are able to read in their home language of Spanish, and would love to read on their own. By providing them with access to interesting titles in their own language, they have the opportunity to keep up their Spanish literacy skills even as they continue to develop their English literacy skills.

My newcomer and immigrant students are developing their English literacy skills, but many are already able to read books in their home languages. By adding more Spanish titles, my immigrant students will be able to enjoy literature on their own even as they develop their English literacy skills. In addition, these books can serve as emotional supports for students – accessible to them in their own language!
