My Students
Being at a public charter school that serves students students in 6th-8th grade, my students come from a variety of different backgrounds, many of which from low-income households. In order to assist my students in their journey towards becoming Spanish-speakers, I am looking to purchase a classroom set of Spanish dictionaries that they can reference in class.
Having access to Spanish dictionaries in class will allow my students to continually add to their Spanish vocabulary and will help them become better readers, writers, and speakers of the Spanish language.
My Project
My students are middle schoolers just starting their journey of learning Spanish, so they are in need of some Spanish dictionaries so that they can expand their vocabulary in Spanish. Having access to Spanish dictionaries also gives them a tool to use in their writing when they do not have access to technology.
I believe that although many of my students are accustomed to utilizing technology and having quick access to the internet to use online Spanish dictionaries, being able to browse a paper copy of a dictionary is still a critical skill to learn in middle school that can help them immensely in situations when they do not have access to technology.
