Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from all around the world and social economical backgrounds. I have many English language learners, as well as students with special needs. We are a large school and we have large classes, as well. This year I have an average of 35 students in each class.
My students are hard workers, and many of them have a job after school and on weekends to support themselves and help their families.
Many of them are learning the High School content at the same time that they are learning a second language and adapting to a new culture.
My Project
My students need to prepare for the Spanish AP exam by using many different resources such us: 5 Steps to a 5 and Barron's AP Spanish Flash Cards. Students will get access to this material in the classroom and outside the class in order to practice in their own time. I believe that independence practice is very important in order to develop language proficiency. I am confident that these materials will help my students to prepare and study for the AP exam in an interesting and meaningful way. Students will have the opportunity to take practice exams as well as reading and listening to an authentic material.
